DJ Akhtar

DJ Akhtar is a legend in the Indian dance music industry, a name synonymous with club culture, and one of the most prominent DJs in the country. With over two decades of experience, he has consistently ranked among the top 3 DJs in India. Akhtar was a pioneer in introducing the club scene and dance music culture to India back in the 1990s when there were fewer than ten clubs in the entire country. 

Nearly 80% of nightclubs and bars in Mumbai have DJs trained by Akhtar, including renowned venues such as Trilogy at The Sea Princess Hotel, Enigma at JW Marriott, Velvet Lounge at Renaissance Powai, Pollyesthers at Gordan House Hotel Colaba, and many more. His influence on the Mumbai club scene is undeniable. 

DJ Akhtar has received numerous accolades throughout his career. He was voted the number 2 DJ in India on the popular television show 'Zee Top 10,' widely watched in the UK and Europe. He was also featured on Zee TV, Zee Café, and Zee Trends. 

In 2005-2006, he was voted the No. 1 DJ in the country, an honor presented to him at the Lions Club International Gold Awards by the then Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil and Director General of Police Dr. Parischa.

His expertise extends beyond the decks, as Akhtar is well-known for his production skills, often providing music and remixes to Bollywood music directors and films. He has also been instrumental in providing music for top designers in the Indian fashion industry and has collaborated with the most prominent event management companies, choreographers, and models. 

Akhtar’s talent has seen him play at after-parties for prestigious events such as the Lakme India Fashion Week, Bacardi Blast/Megamix, Smirnoff Zone, Gladrags Party, and the IIFA Awards.

One of the highlights of his career was performing at the Mrs. World Pageant party at Sahara Amby Valley in February 2005, where he had the opportunity to jam alongside international stars like Pierce Brosnan and Boris Becker. DJ Akhtar has also hosted or performed for Indian superstars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Hrithik Roshan, and Shahrukh Khan.

In addition to his club performances, DJ Akhtar has played at countless wedding parties and functions hosted by high-profile personalities, including Anil and Tina Ambani, Gautam Singhania, Parthiv Kilachand, Nirmal Zaveri, Pawan Munjal (Hero Honda), Ajay Bijli (PVR), and many more.
